This entire episode was dedicated to an email I received that explains a bad DJ experience in detail. I want to talk about the warning signs and lessons that can be learned from this story.

SSS7 Rules/Guidelines:

* Anyone can enter, but make sure you master the scratch or scratches you perform. If the scratches aren’t tight your video will not get in.
* You can use any equipment. Turntables, controllers, cdj’s, etc. Do you.
* Use the SSS7 beat that has been provided and do not change the tempo. If you change the tempo I will not accept your submission.

* Submit 4 bars of scratches. Not 8, not 32, just 4 bars. If you submit more than 4 bars of scratching I will not accept your video.
Tip: hit record on your camera, start the beat. I has a 4 bar intro and then the drums come in. Start scratching when the drums come in and stop after 4 bars. Easy right? ;)
How to count bars:
* Film your video in Landscape mode. I will not accept portrait mode videos.
* Upload your video as an .mp4 file. Max file size: 100Mb.
* Name your video file as follows: “your DJ name”.mp4
* Upload your video by using this link:
* Aim for the best quality audio and video.
Tip: Make sure you have enough light when you record your video. It really helps to improve the quality.
Tip 2: Make sure the audio never plays too loud and go for a good balance between the beat and the scratches. Do a couple of tests to hear if everything sounds ok.
* DEADLINE: your video must be submitted this month so you have until February 28! Videos submitted in March will not be accepted anymore.
